Waters have gone international with their recognition - well, as far as Ireland at least! The Irish news ran an article in their 16th November edition detailing the sporting chronicles of John McGuinness and his family. Whilst this name might not be overly familiar, John was a very accomplished sportsman, playing Gaelic Football, and football. His wife, Suzanne was also from a prominent sporting background, herself excelling at hockey and cricket as well as athletics. The sporting fortunes carried into their three children, where middle son Mark now plays for Luton Town, and is a full Republic of Ireland international.

Now, where does Virginia Water fit into all of this? Mark has two brothers, Tom, who is the eldest, and if it was not obvious before, younger brother Sean, is a current Virginia Water FC player. The family's remarkable story is detailed here in the article from the Irish News:

Sean has already proved a valuable asset to Waters, including a recent hat trick against Risborough Rangers a couple of weeks ago.
