U12's Reach Tournament Final

Virginia Water's U12's provided a good showing at local rivals' Byfleet Village's tournament on Sunday 25th June. Fielding two teams, manager Emily Hodgkinson was extremely proud of both teams, as one reached the quarter-quarterfinals, and the other made it all the way to the final!

The eventual tournament winners were Burpham Juniors, who were the scourge of the Waters' teams - beating team one 1-0 in the quarterfinals thanks to an extremely late solitary goal in a close game.

Team two fared better en route, beating hosts Byfleet on penalties in the quarterfinals, and then beating Oxshott 1-0 in the semis to set up an avenging tie with Burpham in the final. Sadly it was not to be, as Burpham proved too strong on the day and took the tournament title with a 3-0 win. However, it was a good day out for the Waters' lads and they continue their pre-season development as they look forward to next season.
