Waters Welcome Andy Smith

Waters have been busy in the close season, with Ceri Jones moving swiftly to appoint Andy Smith to his coaching team, to work with the first team staff, joining Richard and Matt. Andy brings a wealth of experience with him, having had a very reputable playing career with Staines Town, Ashford Town (Middx), Walton & Hersham and Bedfont FC.

After hanging up his boots, the man known as Smudger quickly dusted them off again to step into managing and coaching, and again proving himself to be a valuable asset. Andy has management experience with the Under 18 teams of Ashford Town (Middx) and Windsor, and also as the manager of Hampton & Richmond Reserves. His work with the junior teams did not go unnoticed and assistant manager roles with Chertsey Town (at Step 4) and Hampton and Richmond (at Step 2) are also on his impressive CV. Andy joins Waters after a two-year hiatus and was keen to get back into football once again.

“I’ve been at the club now for about 3 months, and inn my time here I have been made to feel welcome and part of a very hard working club both on and off the field.

The lads have worked very hard in pre-season and we are all looking forward to this afternoon’s first league game, after our bitter disappointment of being knocked out of the FA Cup in what was a very tight game.”

Andy’s favourite foods are bacon and tomatoes, and his favourite film is The Shawshank Redemption. Waters are delighted to have Andy on board, and look forward to seeing his input on the team in the coming season.

Welcome Andy!
