Youth Teams Update
Virginia Water are delighted to announce that they have not only retained all of their youth teams from last season, but will also be adding more teams to the club. There will be an additional team at the Under 14 age group, and the club are especially pleased that there will also be a new junior team for the coming season too.
There have also been some staffing changes within the youth structure. At U16's Andy Ingram has stepped down as manager of the Maroons, and will be replaced with Alex Saunders. Brian Hart continues as the U16 Greens manager.
With the addition of another U14's team, Emily Hodgkinson continues in her role as manager of the Maroons, and the club are delighted to welcome Steve Hodgkinson on board to manage the newly-formed Greens. Steve returns to Waters, having once been on the books as a first team player many seasons ago!
The Under 12's have also had a managerial reshuffle. Dan Basheer has stepped down from the role as manager in order to concentrate on his work with the men's development team - and he will also continue in his role as youth club secretary. There is a new five-person committee that will be taking care of the Under 12's - Mark Harris, Matt Spearing and Peter Shepherd will be taking on the coaching roles, and Traci Bunch and Ed Freeman will be taking care of the admin.
Jack Deabill also joins the youth staff and will be taking control of the new junior team once the details have been finalised, and lastly, the club also welcomes Jamie Meakes as a floating community coach.
Virginia Water Football Club are grateful to all the volunteers and staff that give up their time to be a part of the club and welcome all the new additions for the new season!
