VWFC vs Royal Holloway OB
17/07/2018 Virginia Water 3-0 Royal Holloway Old Boys
Pre-Season Friendly
Report by Ceri Jones

Scott Jackson stoops to head Waters into the lead
Virginia Water returned to action after an all too short break, with a very hard fought win against a highly competitive Royal Holloway Old Boys side.
Whilst the result was of little importance, both sides played some entertaining football at times, with this match being the first for the home side in a hectic two week period.
What was reassuring after playing so many players (a different set of ten outfield players per half), was the impressive debut performances of summer signings Dominic Clarke, Luke Van Spall, Scott Jackson, Harvey Griffiths and Liam Whyte,
all of whom slotted in seamlessly to the squad and set up at Waters.

Lennie Di Felice slides in to make it 2-0 to Waters
For the record Waters’ goals were all scored in the second half by Jackson, Lorenzo Di Felice and Jake Baker (MoM), with Whyte, Josh Guichard and Marc Lansdowne all hitting the woodwork.
Griffiths, Adam McNamara, Louis Sanders and Harry Brooks – making his first team debut at the age of 16 - also all went close.
At the other end, manager Ceri Jones was satisfied to see the defence started where they left off last year with a strong effort and were rewarded with a deserved clean sheet – Matt Jones was rarely troubled in goal.
Waters wish RHOB well for the season ahead, as the home side now look forward to welcoming Banstead, Balham, Fleet and Spelthorne Sports to the Timbers in the coming weeks, but first they face a severe test away to Farnham United this Saturday!
