VWFC vs Yateley United
17/12/2016 Virginia Water 5 - 0 Yateley United
Surrey Elite League
Report by Ceri Jones

Virginia Water head into the Christmas break in a strong position, with a comfortable win and another clean sheet, against a plucky Yateley team.
Waters went ahead when Marc Lansdowne reacted quickest to turn in a long throw from Finn Evered, and from then on it could have become a much bigger score line.
The prolific Adam McNamara (MoM) got the second, turning sharply in the box to rifle home into the bottom corner.
Then Skipper Steve Williams got in on the act, with a terrific goal of his own, shooting into the top right hand corner from a tight angle.
McNamara put Waters 4-0 up at the break, finishing off a good move from close range.
The defence held strong as ever, with Matt Jones only having two significant saves to make in each half.
With the Christmas party hangovers clearly evident, the home side eased up a little in the second half, but not before McNamara got the 5th - and his deserved hat trick, hitting in a rebound after his header had come back off the bar.
Many more could have come, but a satisfying finish to 2016 all the same, sees Waters third in the league with two games in hand (and 4 points behind both teams ahead of them), in the semi-final of the League Cup and last 16 of the County Cup to look forward to.
The team will now have a well-earned break before the graft of hopefully reaching a final or two, and pushing toward league honours.
Well done lads – Merry Christmas!
