Yateley vs VWFC
29/08/2016 Yateley 0 - 0 Virginia Water
Surrey Elite League
Report by Ceri Jones
Taking four points from 6 and not conceding a goal makes good reading, but Waters are disappointed as this should have been another 3 points.
Waters dominated for most of the game and had all the chances, albeit nowhere near enough clear cut chances created, for all the possession and territory was had.
The backline cannot be faulted, who kept another clean sheet, with Matt Jones not having a save to make in the second half. At the other end Jake Baker, Martin Peters, Steve Williams, Rob Osgood and Andy Ingram had efforts on goal, but could not get the breakthrough the effort deserved. Yateley battled hard for their point, even if Waters knew it was a case of two points dropped.
Whilst the defence is now the next best in the league, Virginia Water need to put things right at the other end, as they are languishing on the bottom side of the goal scoring stats.
Nevertheless, if you don’t win, don’t get beat, and they look forward to the next fixture and hope to get the next three points.
Frustrating day at the office, which on another occasion would have, and could have been a comfortable win..
Well done lads!
