Reigate Priory vs VWFC
03/09/2016 Reigate Priory 0 - 9 Virginia Water
Surrey Elite League
Report by Ceri Jones
A great win for Virginia Water sees them climb to 5th in the table, with a third successive clean sheet in the process – now best defence in the League!
A day to remember for the attack, and a boost for the all-important goal difference.
The scorers on the day were Ryan Curtis (2), Jake Baker (2), Michael Chambers (1), Adam McNamara (3) and Dan Whatford (1) – a penalty and Waters’ first in 10 attempts – welcome back Dan!
A great debut off the bench for McNamara (MoM), who linked well with the lads, and his pace was certainly something to behold and was rewarded with a hattrick!
Some tough games lie ahead, but now with some momentum and confidence, and with more players back from injury, Waters now look in a good place!!
Well done to the defence, where Matt Jones was hardly tested, and fullbacks Josh Hill and Max Samyint were a constant driving force. Marc Landsdowne and Finn Evered dominated in the air, and Steve Williams, Liam Hill and Joe McBride linked up all over the park, ably supported by some excellent traditional wing play from Andy Ingram and Jake Baker.
A good day at the office!
